Hook & Ladder Winery
Hook & Ladder's founder, Cecil De Loach, found great success by following a simple guiding principal: Make wines that people like to drink. In order to make exceptional wine, it's helpful to start with exceptional fruit. One of the best ways to ensure the highest quality grapes is to grow them yourself. As a farmer first, Cecil remained true to the fruit he grew when crafting his wines. Continuing this tradition, Hook & Ladder wines strive to showcase the vineyards from which they are made.
Cecil’s grandson, Jason De Loach, is now the winemaker. He is careful to emphasize Hook & Ladder's estate fruit, and uses a balanced approach to all elements of winemaking, from harvest to oak barrel aging. The entire Hook & Ladder family team is proud to share these hand-made estate wines with discriminating wine lovers around the world. Hook & Ladder Wines showcase the quality and character of the Russian River Valley that only four decades of experience and a family’s commitment can deliver.
